In order to cover all the main types of astro imaging, here is the deep sky page. Deep sky imaging is probably the most involved and demanding. Exposures can be 15min or more in duration with data collected over several nights. Add to this the need for guiding, calibration and image processing and it’s a commitment to get to the point of taking good pictures. New equipment is making this easier but will never be point and shoot!
